BRIAN'S TAKE

There is so much energy in a room when actors are encouraged to take a role and make it their own. Having fun was secondary only to telling a clear story in this production that included a skateboard ramp on stage and towers the actors could climb to control their own spotlights. The company was so joyous, when we had to send the A2 out on stage to do a mic swap upstage while an actor wasn't being used in a song, the cast encouraged the A2 to stay on stage and dance with them during the playoff at the end. The crew also loved this opportunity to wear their street clothes backstage since the actors were dressed in costumes directly inspired by their own unique styles.
