Being in a rehearsal room of a new work where the writer is present and everyone in the room, including Stage Management, is encouraged to help in the collaboration is extremely rare and a thrill when you can find it. In this world premiere of a new choreopoem things changed significantly every day in rehearsal, including the order of the poems/scenes. The changing structure of the script has potential to lead to confusing conversations with the creative team, but we took meticulous notes on pagination and structure keeping everyone on the same page. This included having multiple columns for page numbers on many documents since the actors and designers were working off very different versions of the script. The sample on the right has a column for the script version the actors started with and another column for the clean draft that was printed going into tech.
